Young Luv

Our Young Luv program focuses on promoting healthy relationships for Aboriginal young women between 13 and 18 years old.

Young Luv engages young women in a culturally safe space where they can talk about, reflect on and better understand important issues including:

  • The dynamics of healthy relationships
  • How to recognise inappropriate or unsafe behaviour, and spot red flags
  • Safety while dating, including how to access appropriate support
  • Safety online and appropriate use of social media.

What makes Young Luv so special and innovative is that it was designed by young Aboriginal women and is delivered by young Aboriginal women.

How Young Luv works

Young Luv draws on cultural strength to assist young women to build resilience and develop coping strategies to deal with issues impacting their lives and their communities.

The program is delivered as a two-hour workshop where participants develop skills to assist them to be able to identify respectful and healthy boundaries in relationships.

The program provides an opportunity for young women to reflect on their own aspirations, dreams and capacity to make positive decisions.

The Young Luv workshops can be delivered in schools, community organisations and community groups.
