Fundraise for us
There are many different ways you can raise funds for Djirra!
All funds raised support our life-saving and life-changing work with Aboriginal women and their children. Funds support Djirra to deliver services such as family violence support, as well as cultural and wellbeing programs that support our women's and children's safety.
Some fundraising ideas:
- Ask for donations instead of birthday, wedding or other gifts
- Donate entry fees from an event
- Organise a morning tea or event through work
- Participate in a run or walk and encourage friends and family to sponsor you
- Create your own community or local event
Have a look through the information below for further details, and be sure to get in touch if you’re looking for assistance with fundraising. We would love to help. Contact us on donations@djirra.org.au.
FUNDRAISING IDEAS
Online fundraising
Creating an online fundraiser is one of the quickest ways to make an impact for Djirra. Simply ask your loved ones to make a contribution on your behalf in place of a gift for a special occasion, or to get behind a cause you care about.
Create an online fundraiser through Facebook, GiveNow or Instagram.
Corporate fundraising
Bring your team or workplace together to fundraise for Djirra’s important cause. You could organise a day for staff to 'Wear Orange (or another colour) for Djirra', host a morning tea, organise a team bonding exercise - or anything your organisation is on board with. You can also encourage your team to get behind Djirra's campaigns, such as our annual 16 Days of ACTIVEism® (25 November to 10 December).
Fitness challenge
How about getting active for a good cause?
You can fundraise for Djirra by taking part in a range of fun runs like the Melbourne Marathon, Run Melbourne, and many other fitness events across the state.
Head to Grassrootz for more information. When you sign up to run, it's as simple as selecting Djirra as the organisation you want to raise funds for.
Container deposit scheme
Djirra is excited to be part of Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme. This means every Victorian can donate the money made from container recycling to Djirra!
It's a simple way to support the environment AND support a sister. Find more information and your nearest collection point at Container Deposit Scheme website.
