Koori Women’s Place Mildura – Silk Dyeing workshop series

KWP Workshops May 2026: Silk dyeing with Miss Emily Aboriginal Art. Thursdays 14 May–18 June, 11am–1pm at Djirra Mildura, 139-141 Langtree Ave. Free for Aboriginal women.Join Mutthi Mutthi / Gunditjmara / Wamba Wamba artist Calinda Egan for a 6-week silk dyeing series.

Explore a range of resist techniques including gutta, wax, and screen/stencil methods. Working across different fabric sizes, participants will learn the full process of resist design and dyeing — from initial concepts through to creating, setting, and finishing their pieces using steam and heat.

By the end of the series, you’ll have completed a collection of unique works, culminating in a beautifully stretched silk artwork.
