Our self-determined leadership and knowledge is critical to ending violence against women

In an opinion piece for National Indigenous Times, Djirra CEO Antoinette Braybrook AM and Dr Hannah McGlade have commented on the launch of ‘Our Ways – Strong Ways – Our Voices: National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Plan to End Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence 2026-2036 ‘.

The article highlights what is needed to truly end violence against Aboriginal and women: our voices, expertise and leadership must be at the centre of the national response.

While the release of a new national plan and additional funding is a positive step, it will only succeed if governments back Djirra’s solutions and invest in the services already supporting our communities.
